Democrat Barack Obama, the senator from Illinois has made history by becoming the first black president of United States Of America. He defeated his rival, the Republican John McCain by a convincing margin. The win signifies victory of the will of American people who showed up in huge numbers to vote for a “change”. The results also showed public rejection of Bush and his policies.

Obama who is just 44 years old will be the 44th president of US and will be sworn as the president in Januray 2009.

Barack Hussein Obama,46, has finally defeated his rival, the heavy weight and former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in probably the most the most closely contested nomination battle in the US history stretching for almost 5 months.Honestly it looked more like a heart stopper sports game than a primary.

Illinois senator has therefore created history by becoming first ever black to win a nomination from a major political party for the highest post of the US. The final count of delegates being 2154 for Obama as opposed to 1919 of the New York rival.

The rise of Obama from being “<strike>no-bama</strike>“(courtesy: a Clinton suppoter) to being the first black ever to run for the post of the American president is unbelievable! But acknowledging that not only international community but even American people are somewhat tired of Republican administration, its not that hard to believe.

Its a change America believes in.Which it desperately needs to bring its economy back on track, save money and lives of countless American soldiers on war front in Iraq, improve its (probably international but here its my opinion) image from being a heavy weight goon to a true world leader working for peace and harmony and eradicating poverty from the world.

Its not only the Americans who suffer because if you have a bad leader leading the most powerful country in the world, it affects the whole world.

But the road to the White House is not easy. After winning the popular vote, he now has to defeat Republican candidate John McCain in the electoral vote. As last time also, Al-Gore won the popular vote but GWB won the electoral votes and became the president for second consecutive term. But i hope it wont be repeated again.

So, its another supporter for Obama here from India.

Obama for the win.
