Disclaimer: Pictures displayed below can be un-suitable for some viewers, viewer discretion is advised.

Supratim Dutta, a 23 year old IT specialist had a miraculous escape from death after he met an accident on road while he was going to work in his cab. The cab driver was allegedly driving very fast and the car hit a barricade after taking a U-turn. The impact was such great that a 4×4 inch, 5feet long and 6 kg heavy iron angle pierced car’s bonnet, dashboard before piercing Supratim’s body all the way through.

Supratim immediately called his parents and friends for help. The iron angle was cut by a welder on the spot of accident so that he could be moved out of the car. He was then rushed to the AIIMS trauma centre. He was still completely conscious. Owing to his condition, doctors could not perform basic diagnostic tests like x-ray or CT scan. He was given anaesthesia in a sitting position. Doctors decided to make a sideways incision to take out the angle as pulling it from front or back could have been more dangerous. A team of doctors took 6 hours to complete the operation.

His vital organs were severely damaged. The rod affected lung, spleen, liver, stomach, diaphragm apart from breaking the 10th left rib bone.his spleen was taken out. The main thing that worked for him that the rod missed the heart by just a few millimeters. Also, no major blood vessel was affected.

He now is recovering and is expected to be allowed to go home in 2 weeks (from 12 July, when he had the accident at about 0630 hrs)

Now the reason of this post. I just wanted to share that if and if, god forbid(i am an atheist,im using these words for you), you or your loved ones or a stranger is caught in a ugly accident, never think its over, or its a gone case and react slowly. I mean if i was Supratim, i would have given myself no chance of surviving after being pierced by a iron rod through my body. I would have reacted very slowly or not at all, thinking there is no chance. If i would have seen some one else in his place i would have thought there is not much that i can do and probably, would not have reacted.

But after “learning” that you can survive even accidents like this, which on surface give you certainity of no hope, i think and hope ill react in a better way if i ever confront such a situation. Also, drive carefully.

So, be quickto react, always be brave, think positively and intelligently, and DON’t panic.

All the best wishes to you Supratim for a quick recovery. Brave man!

There was a post: ( There always is a MOTHER in NATURE ) on this blog on a Bishnoi lady showing great love to a orphan fawn by breast feeding it along with her daughter.

Somewhat similar is this mother from Yantai City,China in above pic too.

The mother cat has adopted a rat and feeds it along with her four kittens. She treats the rat as just another member of the family. The rat also feels ‘at home’, it plays with little kittens as if it was their natural kin!

Its great to see simply because of the fact because i see a cat feeding the most natural prey i can think for it,a rat.

May be her maternal instincts over shadowed her predator instincts.

Because ts none other than my favorite Mr Right (sarcasm) hon’ president GWB who is claiming that better diets in India and China have drived the global food crises. The comment comes days after US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice said a similar(disgusting) thing.

I mean WTF!!! Seriously, what is wrong with this guy? If you are powerful, you think you can say anything about anyone? Dont we have rights to even eat a healthy meal? Is that reserved to only western “civilized” people? Sick man. So are we now classified as WMD’s (Weapons of Mass Destruction)? coz we are draining you of something which is your right and not ours, which (you mean ) is healthy nutrition.

You have rights to have nukes but want India to sign CTBT, you dont want to curb your green house emmissions but want developing nations to do it, and now, you dont like us even eating healthy?

An Austrian man has confessed to imprisoning his daughter for 24 years in a windowless basement cell and fathering seven children with her, three of whom “never saw sunlight” until they were freed over the weekend, police said.

Josef Fritzl, now 73, also told investigators that he tossed the body of one of the children in an incinerator when the infant died shortly after birth, said Franz Polzer, head of the Lower Austrian Bureau of Criminal Affairs.

“We are being confronted with an unfathomable crime,” Interior Minister Guenther Platter said.

Authorities said three of the surviving children – aged 19, 18 and five – were confined during their entire lives to the darkness of their cell by the suspect, whom Polzer said “managed to deceive everyone” until he allegedly confessed in police custody on Monday.

Police released Fritzl’s full name and photograph at a news conference, after his identity was already widely reported by media.

He was an authoritarian who took care never to allow anyone near the cellar, Polzer told reporters.

The daughter, who is now 42, had been missing since 1984 and was found by police in the town of Amstetten, about 120 kilometres west of Vienna, on Saturday evening after police received a tip.

Police released several photos showing parts of the cramped basement cell, with a small bathroom and a narrow passageway leading to a tiny bedroom. Investigators said an electronic keyless entry system apparently kept the daughter from escaping from the cell, which was made of solid reinforced concrete.

Fritzl appeared briefly in court on Monday in the city of St Poelten, where he was to be held in pre-trial detention. He faces up to 15 years in prison if charged, tried and convicted on rape charges, the most grave of his alleged offences under Austrian law.

“He admitted that he locked his daughter, who was 18 at the time, in the cellar, that he repeatedly had sex with her, and that he is the father of her seven children,” Polzer said.

Three of the surviving children lived with the grandparents and were registered with authorities. The other three apparently were held captive in the cellar with their mother, Polzer told reporters.

Hans-Heinz Lenze, a senior local official, said Fritzl’s wife apparently had “no idea” of what went on and was devastated.

“You have to imagine that this woman’s world fell apart,” he said.

Authorities said the victims and Fritzl’s wife were under psychiatric care in an undisclosed location.

The case unfolded after a gravely ill teenager was found unconscious on April 19 in the building where her grandparents live, and taken to a hospital. Authorities appealed publicly for the mother to come forward to help diagnose the young woman’s condition.

After receiving a tip, police picked up the 42-year-old woman – identified as Elisabeth – and her father close to the hospital on Saturday.

Police said Elisabeth appeared “greatly disturbed” during questioning. She agreed to talk only after authorities assured her she would no longer have to have contact with her father and that her children would be cared for.

On Sunday evening, investigators found the area where Elisabeth and three of the children were held captive. Investigators said the rooms were at most 1.7 metres high. The area had a TV and small hot plates for cooking.

In a chronology of events outlined in a police statement, authorities said Elisabeth told them her father began sexually abusing her when she was 11. She told police that some years later in 1984, he sedated her, handcuffed her and locked her in the cellar.

A letter written by Elisabeth had apparently surfaced a month after her disappearance, asking her parents not to search for her.

Monday’s developments recalled another case that shocked Austrians in 2006, when a young woman escaped after being largely confined to a tiny underground dungeon in a quiet Vienna suburb for more than eight years.

Natascha Kampusch was 10 years old when she was kidnapped in Vienna on her way to school in March 1998. Her abductor, Wolfgang Priklopil, threw himself in front of a train just hours after her dramatic escape.

Kampusch, now 20, issued a statement saying she wanted to contact Elisabeth to offer emotional and financial help.

Naturally born identical triplets are born at a rate of one in 20 million, said Michael Bernard of Fraser Health, the regional health authority that oversees the hospital where the baby was delivered.

Most triplets are conceived with the help of fertility drugs, but the Willsons did it naturally.

“We were totally shocked,” Thea Willson said, recalling her reaction when she first discovered she would be the mother of three.

“Now we’re just really happy we have all three of them and they are all healthy,” she said Thursday. What else can you say, we’re really thankful.”

Thea Willson was able to hold her daughters for the first time on Wednesday. The babies weigh between 910 grams and 1.5 kilograms, and are expected to remain in the hospital at least until their original due date, in early June.

Selena Mohammad, a spokesman for neonatal services at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, where the babies were delivered, says even veteran staff members are awestruck.

“The rarity, it’s amazing, it’s huge,” Mohammad said. Thea Willson took it in stride as she joked about her new family.

“We’ve always wanted to have more than one. So we had them all at once, she said.

Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend’s toilet for two years — so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the man finally called police.

It appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman’s skin had grown around the seat, said Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple. The woman initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

“We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital,” Whipple said. “The hospital removed it.”

Whipple said investigators planned to present their report on Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the boyfriend.

“She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body,” Whipple said. “It is hard to imagine. … I still have a hard time imagining it myself.”

Police declined to release the couple’s names, but the boyfriend, Kory McFarren, agreed to be interviewed on Wednesday. He identified his girlfriend as Pam Babcock.

McFarren, 36, told investigators he took Babcock food and water and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

“And her reply would be, ‘Maybe tomorrow,’” Whipple said. “According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom.”

McFarren said that he was not to blame and that it was solely Babcock’s choice to remain in the bathroom.

“She is an adult; she made her own decision. It was my fault I should have gotten help for her sooner; I admit. But after a while, you kind of get used to it,” he said.

That really qualifies to be called as weird.
