There is a major problem with computers that with time, the performance of the PC’s decreases for an average user. The reasons for it are many.
One of the major problems with computers is virus and spyware (malware)infections. If you are not careful on the internet about what you are surfing, or you dont scan your media like USB drives and cd’s or dvd’s before using them, your PC will suffer a malware problem sooner or later. if you just take care of these two aspects, you probably dont even need any anti-virus software, believe me.
Another major problem that is a cause of performance degradation are hard disk issues like disk fragmentation. A highly fragmented hard disk increases data access time and thus makes your computer slow. Sometimes you are also required to clean up and optimize your registry to make your computer run faster.
There are many software to optimize your system and make it run like new. We have an whole array of software specialising in different taks like anti-virus and anti spyware suites, registry cleaners etc. But how do you chose a good one which can really do the job efficiently. Its not an easy decision. And not to forget that there are many fake software out there that distribute themselves as anti virus solutions or registry optimizers, but are actually malicious themselves. Like Antivius 2009 (which is a clone of the infamous Antivirus 2008) which after installation creates annoying pop-ups and does fake computer scans. Its hard to make the correct choice from such a huge pool of software, that can make your computer happy again.
If you are having trouble deciding what you can do to make your crawling pc run a bit faster, I suggest you have a look at Reimage home edition where you can get your Windows XP fixed.
Reimage is a great service which scans and checks your computer for any problem and repairs it so that you have an installation which is as good as new. It checks for virus, spyware (malware) related problems like disabling of certain features or services, registry issues, boot problems, BSOD’s (Blue Screen Of Death),missing DLL files, hardware parameters like temperature etc. It also checks if all the drivers installed in your PC are working properly. Once the problem is identified, it replaces the missing/faulty components/files by the correct ones using its huge online repository of files. The analysis takes anything from 15-50 minutes so in about 1 hour approximately, your PC can be as good as new.
Scan your computer at the Reimage today and repair and re-energize your pc.

Great job! I knew only few things to do when my pc went slow. Open the chassis, wipe the dust out, and add more and more paste on the processor. Thats it! it used to help a lot. May be this would help too
