Sushil Kumar won India a bronze medal in 66 kg freestyle wrestling in Beijing Olympics 2008. He defeated a Kazakhstan wrestler to win the bronze. That takes India’s medal tally to 1 gold and 1 bronze so far while another medal was ensured by Vijender Kumar in 75 kg boxing event. He defeated a Russian in qf to ensure a semi final berth and won the first ever medal for India in boxing. He faces a Cuban opponent in the last four round.
