International, News

Last five days witnessed much anticipated and desired events in the Indian sub continent. Two of the India’s neighbouring countries,Pakistan and Bhutan took a step forward towards democracy.

While Bhutan turned democractic after being a monarchy for the first ever after the first historic polls which were held last week; Pakistan, a country lost in transitions, became democratic again when Yousuf Raza Gilani, co-chairman of PPP became the PM of the country, heading a coalition government of the two of the biggest parties, PPP(Bhutto) and PML(Nawaz). He was sworn in as the prime minister of the country yesterday by the current (but now not for much long) president Pervez Musharraf.

Soon after being elected,he has already started giving Musharraf some rude shocks. The same day of becoming the Prime Misnister, he gave orders to re-instate the judges who were suspended and house arrested by Musharraf. Former chief justice, Mr Iftikhar Chaudhary has welcomed the decision.

Seems like its good bye time soon for Mr. Musharraf.

All eyes on you Mr Gilani.
