Tue, Jan 29, 2008

News, Sports

The appeal commissioner,Justin John Hansen has cleared Harbhajan Singh of racist charges(against Andrew Symonds) in the Sydney test
in a near 5 hour long hearing in Adelaide.
The ban of three test matches has dissappeared consequently.

Harbhajan, however admitted to using obscene language against Andrew Symonds and has been charged 50 % of his match fees under ICC level 2.8.

No proof was found by the appeal commissioner in any form(no stump mic audio,no footages, nothing) which could justify the charges made against the Indian cricketer underĀ  ICC level 3.3.

ThisĀ  is a huge victory for Indian cricket. It shows how unfair was to ban Harbhajan on no grounds what so ever.

BCCI’s tough stand paid off.Earlier,BCCI had repeatedly warned of “serious consequences”(suspension of tour) had the racist charges were not dropped .

The Indian tour will now continue as planned.

Congratulations Harbhajan.
